Giveaway: $100 gift card to The Gap

Tuesday, September 14, 2010

This is sponsored content from BlogHer and GAP.

I love babies.

They make me happy, content and I could snuggle, rock and hold them endlessly. As every mother should, I especially love MY babies.

I have such a difficult time with my babies growing up. Each time they grow out of a size of clothing my heart breaks a little. I always want them to stay in that phase just a little longer.

Lots of people don't overly care for the newborn stage but I love it. In fact, the first year of their little lives is my absolute favorite time. I love and adore everything about it.

When I dress them, I like them to stay looking like babies. Not mini grownups, babies. So, I usually dress them in soft one piece clothing that is comfortable, snuggable and like soft pajamas. Eventually, they start walking and I have to face the fact that they are no longer infants.

And (SOB) that time has come for my little Butterlump, Aaron. He is not a baby anymore--he is a toddler.

This is so HARD for me.

Aaron is my youngest.

My baby.

Possibly the last baby I will have.

I have treasured and soaked up every single stage of his little life and putting away the stages, the outgrown clothing has about done me in every time I have to do it. But even though he has gotten bigger, he has still been A BABY.

Till now.

I put it off as long as humanly possible, but the time came where Aaron has gone from baby to toddler. So, I bit the bullet and we went and bought our little 14-month-old his first pairs of jeans at Baby Gap.

Luckily for my heart, he looks adorable.

I love The Gap.

I always have.

Beyond loving their products (hello, The Perfect Tshirt is named thus for a reason), I've come to really adore the staff at The Gateway Gap in Salt Lake City. I've always had such good customer service. The GM, Linda, runs an excellent ship. I was lucky enough to be styled for BlogHer by Hannah last month and this time around, Lucy helped me pick out some really adorable looks for Aaron. He's at a tricky age to style size-wise, but I think we did really well. His close are a tad bit big on him, but well...that is what you need at 15-months.

I love the tops we picked. They can be worn separately or layered together. I also could not resist the heavy, warm green canvas jacket and wee golf cap for him. He is not a fan of wearing it for long but he looks like such a little man in it, that I put it on him at the slightest opportunity.

I could not be happier with the denim we selected. Gap's 1969 line is adorable. I love the bit of plaid that lines the cuff of the Lil' Loose cut we picked out. And I couldn't say no to the edgy look of the Playdate Straight grey wash jean gave my little pat of butter. Both were able to be cuffed so he has room and time to grow into them. They're tough enough to survive the toddler years and as a mom, I appreciate the tough snap at the waist that LOOKS like a button. :)

I'm glad I survived yet another moment of letting pieces of Aaron's babyhood go in one piece. I just want him to hold my hand and toddle along side me forever.

As much as I wish I could freeze time and keep him my little one, I know that can't be. I have to let him grow up. It was tough but he looks so adorable that it made it all a little easier.

I know that my children have to grow up.

But like millions of other mothers in the world, I look at Aaron and know that he can grow and grow and we can buy him endless pairs of jeans over the years, but...he'll be my baby forever.

AND NOW THE FUN PART FOR YOU ALL!

I am giving away a $100 gift card to The Gap. The giveaway runs from 9/14 until 9/20.

All you have to do to enter is leave a comment and tell me something you love about The Gap and their products and if you have a favorite "kid age" like I do. (Optional nostalgia and/or tearing up over your kids growing up is optional, though cathartic for the soul.)

And if that fails, just tell me what an adorable kid I have.

I can only wear Gap jeans, they know jeans.

My favorite age so far is nine. My daughter's personal style is emerging and it's hilarious!

My closet is basically an advertisement for the Gap. It's the only place I can buy jeans that fit my long legs (and bigger than toothpick thighs).

I'm hoping that their little boy's clothes will be just as nice for my bean pole baby.

I have three daughters and the great thing with the Gap is that I can get them all similar clothes in their different sizes. Everything coordinates which makes it really easy when you are doing hand-me-downs from kid to kid. I especially loved when my girls were about 3 years old. Gap dresses are the BEST. Girly but classic and they hold up the best - wash well and still look new.

I wear their t-shirts all the time. My favorite ones are long-sleeved.

I love kids when they are about 7 or 8 and have a real silly sense of humor.

I love the Gap jeans - sturdy, comfortable, and stylish without breaking the bank. They make fantastic hand-me-downs.
While my husband prefers kids over the age of two when they can have conversations, my favorite is when they are still babies who want to be cuddled as I am more than happy to oblige.

My kids all had the little GAP denim overalls when they were younger. The girls' had a slight shirring in the front that gave them a feminine feel. There is nothing cuter than their round little diaper bottoms gently filling out the back side of a pair of overalls. Now they are 8, 11 and 13- and I still think their bums are cute, only now- in jeans and chinos! Just don't tell my kids that I publicly announced that theh have cute bums!

Both my kids (now 5 and 3) have been wearing gap since birth. Like you, I adore the tiny and soft baby clothes. At 3, but wearing size 4-5, my daughter is loving a dress I just picked up for her. It's soft as your softest sweatshirt and has polka dots (she calls them "bubbles"). Love.

I haven't been able to find pants for myself at Gap for a while...but wow have things changed for this season. Everything I try on suddenly fits (and not because I lost weight or grew six inches). Thanks Gap!

dude. i buy stuff from gap online all the time, using my gap card. i get points (and gap cash!) for every dollar i spend. i had to return some stuff once that didn't fit right, and the lady at the gateway gap was super awesome to help me get it exchanged without a receipt (i'd left it at home. woe!) their clothes wash 99 million times and still look new. you get what you pay for with gap. their girl clothes are to die for (sorry, lor) but the boys clothes are cute, too. love their sweaters and leggings.

My favorite sweater and matching socks came from the GAP oh so many years ago. The socks have to be at least 18 years old and they have held up, sadly when one got put in the load of whites it turned orange and the other didn't turn the same color when I tried to do the same thing to it to keep the socks matched. I was sad.

I have to admit that I haven't shopped at the GAP in a long time. I would love to get a pair of their city flats because they actually come in my size (11) but they never have them in the store in my size and as much as I would love to order something online, I really need to try it on first because I just can't spend money and not know what it feels like and maybe have to return it because if there is something that I am worse at than organizing, its returning stuff.

My favorite age is from about 18 months-3 years. They are exploring the world around them and just growing more and more each day.

Um, that last photo TOTALLY melts my heart. Well, they all do, but you know what I mean.

I just love GAP denim. Jeans, jackets, skirts. I have them all. :) But I need more jeans... and so do the kids... :)

And I THINK my favorite age is 18 months because at our house we call that 'the age of maximum cuteness'.

I love the GAP basics. Tshirts, jeans--for me, my kids and hubs. It's where I shop the most! Favorite age...probably the first two years, especially the first year. I know many say it's the hardest, but it's my favorite.

My oldest two are 14 (son and daughter). Teenagers aren't so bad. I actually really like them but I am a sucker for a baby. Any size, any time, day or night, bring them on. I can't think of anything more joyous than holding a baby.

I have fond feelings for Gap because they invented (or were at least the first place I ever saw them) snap-crotch t-shirts for babies and toddlers. No more untucked shirts, bare bellies and cold babies. Love them. I still have the first one I ever bought.

I am a sucker for nostalgia.

I luuuuurve gap jeans. They fit me just right. In fact, I'm wearing a pair, along with this top that I just bought a couple weeks ago. Comfy and cute? That's what I call style, baby!

As for babies (the real, infant kind), I like them small. If I ever have them I'm going to loathe the day they get bigger than 6 months. Ok, probably not, but they're just so cute and easy to handle when they're little!

(Oh and yours is, of course, one of the cutest babies EVAH.)

Hands down, the infant stage. Oh my goodness, I can't get enough. I love me a clean and scented baby. I love it so much that if you let me babysit a wee-one, I will probably give the cutie a bath in the kitchen sink. And if
it's a boy, I will paint his toenails and see how long it
    takes the mom to notice.

I adore Gap jeans. Just the cut of them is perfect - better than any other jeans I've ever owned.

My son is four months old and I love the 4-6 month stage so every day I feel like saying, "No, no, slow down, slow down!" It's like at 3-4 months they turn on - they're aware of more, they grab, they belly laugh... I just love it.

And, yeah, I tear up every time I have to pack up a onesie he's grown out of... he's my first, so maybe I'll have another some day, but you never know so each piece is like a few days gone. *sniffle* :)

I am a big time newborn baby lover. It is absolutely my favorite stage, and I guard my new ones jealously. I rarely let anyone else hold them and and so glad I nurse so that they HAVE to give the baby back when he or she gets hungry.
For my last little baby, Caleb, I found BabyGaps's First Favorites line. SO, so soft and sweet, they are perfect for lazy days at home when I don't need to get him dressed. They still look brand new, so I passed them to my sister in law, who is using them for her new baby, and will then pass them to our sister who just had a baby.

And...Aaron is truly beautiful - and at the entirely fun stage of walking, talking, giving kisses.

I love the shirts I just bought my 5 year old. He loves them too and didn't want to take off his red softest shirt ever. Almost all of our kid jackets have been from the Gap.

As for the age I love the best? I love when they start sleeping through the night. They are young enough that a kiss and a hug will cure all ills, but their personalities are fully emerging.

I love the Baby Gap. My oldest only wore BG (the good ol' days). I have a sunday outfit I bought for my oldest when he was 4yrs old. All four of my boys have worn this outfit to church over the years. Sunday (yesterday) my baby (who is 4 years old) wore this outfit to church. It meant the world to me...and only me. Most of all...it still looks amazing! I'm sure it's been washed a million times...honestly it looks new! (fab good quality).
Now here's the kicker....my oldest who I bought the size 4 outfit for...he's 14 years old and just started High School. Yikes.
Now I’m almost in tears...thanks for the mommy moment. Now I’m going to go buy a shadow box and frame the dang BG outfit! xoxo Julie (crazibeautiful)

Ooh…my favorite year is around 4 years old. Their still a baby but almost big-boy!

The Gap Jeans are just the bomb diggety! Are there any questions??

P.S. Did anyone ever tell you that your little guy looks a lot like a baby Brad Pitt???

I love my long-sleeved tee from Gap; it's so soft and snuggly! And like you I'm a total sucker for the newborn curled-up bean phase when you just snap something soft around their sweet little grub-bodies and snug them close to your heart in a sling...aww...*sigh* I seriously stopped a woman wearing a sleeping baby at the grocery store today to tell her how it tugged it my heart and because That Lady telling a young mom to "enjoy it while it lasts!" Gah!

You have a VERY cute baby/ er toddler. I love, love, love GAP clothes for my boys. That first pair of jeans and flannel for their first winter was the best. Now that they are big boys, I love the durability of their clothes.

Your little guy is indeed adorable. (And one of my favorite scarves just happens to be from the Gap.)

I LOVE Gap clothes for kids. So cute. Used to always dress my little guys in them. Sigh. I miss them being babies. I guess my favorite age was about 18 months. They look so cute toddling around, but they still want to snuggle.

My favorite thing about The Gap: bootcut jeans in petite sizes! They really make me smile. :o)

I teach two-year-olds at church and, boy, are they a trip! That age will forever have a squishy spot in my heart.

um, don't hate me if you get two comments from me. my internet is bein' weird. =(

my favorite thing that we have gotten at the Gap recently is Devin's jeans...they have a cozy material on the inside so that the jean material doesn't touch his cute chubby thighs. he is in need of a cute GAP sweatshirt...which is a must in everyone's closet.

you are good at making babies...why stop!? =)

oooh, I had to get in on this fun! ;) I LOVE the Gap for baby & toddler clothes. I've found them to be extremely durable. They hold up well, and most styles don't go out of fashion --i love all the classic looks.

As for my babies, I LOVE the 6-10ish month stage, where they just adore you and every little thing you do with them.

I absolutely love the adjustable waist feature - my son is skinny and these jeans look great on him.

My favorite age would have to be 4 years old and my baby just turned 5. Sob.

LOVE Gap w/great big hearts!! It is the only store credit card I own, as I absolutely refused to relinquish it when we "pared down" our cards. I have short, stumpy legs & can always find great-fitting jeans at Gap, and sometimes I don't even have to get the short length!! My in-laws live in central IL (where there is a Gap outlet) and my brother lives in the Chicago suburbs (where there is another Gap outlet) so I insist on hitting both when we make an IL visit, since there's not an outlet close to me! We have some adorable pics of my son in some of his older sister's hand-me-down pink double-thick sleepers, easily the BEST purchase I've ever made from Gap!

I LOVE LOVE LOVE Gap jeans and what they do for the body. Every time I put a pair on I think, "Man, these are so comfortable, stylish AND flattering".

Now as for favorite age of children...that is a hard one. I too love new born. I also love the stage where they start interacting and playing with you. Learning to talk and toddle is fun and exhausting. It is hard to pick a very favorite!

I love Gap jeans. And only recently discovered this. And can't afford to spend that much on a pair of jeans.

I love preschoolers, as their nanny but not in a classroom setting. I love nine to ten year olds at school. They are so little, but so grown up. They get it when you are sarcastic, but they still need you for comfort from time to time. It's perfect.

I absolutely adore The Gap jeans! My favorite baby age is where my daughter is now (7 1/2 months) because she is the light of my life and we never ever thought we would be parents to a biological child.

Your little one is such a sweetheart. Sometimes I am sad I missed all those little sweet baby moments with the boys. Then I realize, I am just lucky to have them :)
