Thanksgiving Holiday Traditions: $100 Visa Gift Card giveaway from Welch's
Monday, November 08, 2010
This is a sponsored post from BlogHer and Welch's.
Is your family big on holiday traditions?
Mine is.
And I am fond of many of them, really.
Especially the ones we have on Thanksgiving. Christmas Eve is my number ONE favorite night of the year, but Thanksgiving is a close second. It has everything, really...family, fun, tradition and pumpkin pie.

We have simple tradition in my family: We only make pumpkin pie.
I. cannot. stand. it.
The recipe is straightforward. Take 2 liters of fizzy lemon-lime soda and dump a big bottle of Hawaiian Punch Concentrate into it.
Every year we beg her to make something else, but no...Thanksgiving is at her house, her recipe stands.
UNTIL THIS YEAR!
We are having Thanksgiving at my brothers.
AND GUESS WHO MANAGED TO PULL OFF GETTING THE DRINK ASSIGNMENT?! (I know, I know...I'm brilliant.)
I'm really excited to try something new, and as it happens, Welch's and BlogHer came around just in time to save my punch-making heiny for Thanksgiving. When I buy juice, it is almost ALWAYS Welch's and I love these recipes. Growing up in a non-drinking household, we buy Welch's sparkling juices a lot for holidays. All the fun fizz, without the alcohol. And I am grateful that there are so many options I can make and serve at the various family gatherings we have over the holidays.

My favorite holiday tradition is to help my mom decorate their tree. She has some fun amazing ornaments. I looooove taking them out and looking at them each year. I'm determined that this year, she WILL decorate her tree for the grandkids to see how awesome it is (the last couple of years she has only decorated with glass balls...simple and pretty, but not the tree I loved growing up).
I would love that cranberry punch. I'm a fan of most things cranberry...but I'd be the only one drinking it. :( -

The Mango Twish Martini sounds yummy!
My favorite holidays are Halloween and Christmas.
We always put our tree up the day after Thanksgiving and don't take it down until the day after New Year.
Our favorite treats at Christmas time are, pumpkin chocolate chip cookies, Tortilla Chips dipped in salsa and cream cheese, and Rice Krispie treats!

I would try to make sparkling holiday punch, it sounds great!
My favorite holiday is Christmas, and my favorite tradition is, seriously, all of them. Each year we seem to add something, and it is getting out of hand, but I can't give anything up! One year, when my girls were 4 and 5, I bought a gingerbread house kit that we never got to (see: other holiday traditions). Christmas eve, they were bouncing off the walls (unusual, right?) I pulled out the kit, they were absorbed with making the house, and the time flew by, we had fun, and no small children (or tired parents) were injured in the process! It might be my favorite! Until I think about the decorating, or . . . -

I am feeling the holiday sparking punch, sounds yummy.
Thanksgiving has always been my fav, even growing up. LOVE food, LOVE football, and for the most part LOVE family ;) The time of the year, the smells, the scenery, thanksgiving rocks.
We seriously eat ALL day, the chips and dips, candies, snacks galore. There is no fasting before the big dinner, we munch all day long and play card and board games and watch football. Then we have the best dinner ever. Nothing fancy at our house. Turkey, gravy, real mashed potatoes, homemade rolls, green beans, olives then pumpkin and apple pie ( on occasion a cream and even a to die for pecan.) Nothing funky ( like casseroles or pumpkin cheesecakes) just good simple food :D
Love, love, love thanksgiving :D
Thanks for the contest op!

I think we would like the grape punch. We make something similar every New Year's Eve for our family fun night of games, cheese dip and punch.
We also have a long standing tradition of using the advent wreath every night of advent and memorizing Bible verse, singing songs and reading stories together. -

It hasen't been like this always, but all my younger siblings have decided they like/love Cranberry juice! And Welches grape juice has always been a favorite in this house! Seriously, Mom & Dad, brothers, sisters,...we all love Welches grape juice,...especially cold! So a combination of the two fits our bill :)
Fav family holiday?
We love Thanks =giving & Christmas very much; but Easter is definitely a fav too! My Mom (and Dad helps too!) makes a killer meal for Easter Sunday lunch....like, WAY GOOD!
Thanks for doing this giveaway! -

I'm a huge fan of Thanksgiving because you get to spend the day with your loved ones without the stress of money and gifts and so.little.time. GAH! But I do love Christmas as well, especially with my two year old.
Seems like the cranberry spritzer is a huge hit so I'll have to try that. YUM!

Sparkling cranberry punch sounds great, though my family would prefer the grape so I'd have to make both!
I love Christmas. Our little country church at night for the kids' program, so beautiful lit up, special time with our families, and of course, the food. I love any holiday which involves food so that pretty much means I enjoy them all. :)
Happy holidays! -

I would try the sparkling holiday punch, but the cranberry one sounds good too!
My favorite family holiday is now Christmas, because our immediate little family can just stay home in our pajamas, snuggle, relax and play. Our extended families now celebrate Christmas earlier in December and later in January, which makes Christmas day relaxingly heavenly!
Thanks for the chance to enter!

Since I've always loved Welch's Grape Juice, I'd love to try their recipe for Spiced Grape Punch.
My favorite family tradition is playing and singing carols at the piano. My mother did this when we were kids, and it seemed to make the whole house glow. Now my kids love it when I play those same, wonderful carols.
Thanks for a great giveaway! -

We love Christmas! My mom started doing "Mrs. Claus" wtih us girls wehn we hit our teen years. It was a special gift consisting of make up and/or skin care. It had us taking care of our skin early but also with a fun twist

I would love to try the Florida Sunshine Fizz. It would be wonderful Christmas morning. Any traditions? We have always gone to Mass on Christmas Eve. A new tradition is to invite people from my husband's work who don't have any place else to go for Christmas dinner. We've been doing it for three years now. We know what it's like to be away from family so I know it means a lot.

I'd love to try the Spiced Grape Punch - the combination of grape, cloves, and lemon sounds delicious! My favorite family holiday would have to be Christmas, and I've continued many of the long-standing traditions my parents introduced me to, such as exchanging pajamas on Christmas Eve and opening one gift before heading to bed. Thanks!
